Global Awareness Citizens Inc. is a non-profit organization, 501(c)(3) incorporated in the state of Iowa, in the United States of America, founded by Jacqueline Fonseca de Abreu in 2013. Her main goal was to create a network of amazing global citizens, motivated in helping other beings and taking great care of our planet, making the world a better place for all of us.

We operate 100% with the help of our incredible volunteers, fundraisers, and the generosity of amazing donors who support our mission "to connect and help people around the globe to become happier, healthier and better educated, while taking great care of our planet". Since our foundation, we have developed many important projects in different parts of the world, such as:

• Donations to homeless people in the Quad Cities area and in Rio de Janeiro (USA and Brazil) - ongoing

• Donations to domestic violence shelters in the Quad Cities area (USA) - ongoing

• Donations of toys, food of basket, and winter clothes to kids survivors of abuse in the Quad Cities (USA)

• Donations to animal shelters and animal rescuing initiatives in the Quad Cities (USA) and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)

• Donations to nursing homes (USA, Brazil, and Mexico)

• Events to empower girls and women globally - annually

• 3D3R Science project for kids to create a 3D project using reusable, renewable and recycled materials with the theme "Technology for Heath" in the Quad Cities area (USA)

• Multicultural picnics to promote diversity and inclusion in the Quad Cities and Miami region (USA) - annually

• Multicultural end of the year celebration in the Quad Cities (USA) - annually

• Partnership with Deepali Phanse for her Glimmer of Hope project to help kids in India who are blind and have other disabilities (event in the USA to help organization in India)

• Project to construct a room for kids with cancer to rest after chemotherapy in Ilheus, BA (Brazil)

• Project to provide prosthetics for a person who lost his arms and legs in an accident in Ilheus BA (Brazil)

• Project to remodel nursing home kitchen to make it accessible to people in wheelchairs (Mexico)

• Donations of art supplies and gloves for Casa Magdala, organization that treats patients with AIDS and orphans (Brasil)

• Donations for survivors of natural disasters (hurricanes in the Philippines and the Bahamas, and mud slides in Brazil)

• Donations of clothes, objects for home and personal items to refugees (USA and Senegal)

• Donation of wheel chairs, hearing aid and prosthetics (India)

 

We choose our programs during our board meetings which are open to the community.
